In the IoT world of the future, tiny and nano devices will exist everywhere, blending in with the environment. Once implemented, IoT devices remain there for a long period of time, while diverse sensor hardware, software, and networks work together to deploy/update applications and create a Smart Society, City, Factory, and other Smart-X services. Such IoT devices and management systems with Edge AI capability could be the next Intelligent Infrastructure'.
For this purpose, we are currently focusing on adopting WebAssembly, which is expected to run at high speed on low-power, resource-constrained Far-Edge devices and currently attracting a lot of attention. Complex business logic is designed by describing it as a combined “sensing pipeline” of multiple simple function Wasm modules, such as sensor input/output, AI, and CV processing.
Also, based on the CPU/MPU architecture of a wide variety and a large number of IoT devices, such Wasm modules can be deployed to Far-edge devices and executed by Wasm Runtime after performing dynamic AOT Compiling. In this presentation, we will introduce our software, which we plan to release as OSS, to realize the above and our future roadmap
