Building a Business-Critical Data Platform to Process Over £34bn in Card Transactions - Sandeep Mehta & Richard Oastler, Paymentsense/Dojo

The UK payments infrastructure has remained largely unchanged for the last 20 years. A single tap of a card results in money changing hands through the legacy and proprietary file formats that are fragile and susceptible to unpredictable surges in transaction volumes. Abstracting away the complexity of ingesting and processing this data is therefore critical to scaling one of the largest fintechs in the world. In this session, Richard and Sandeep will present their journey in building a PCI DSS compliant data platform on Kubernetes using cloud-native technologies to cater to these challenges in a highly regulated industry. They will also discuss security, auto-scaling, data observability, data transformation, schema evolution, and data governance considerations
